Pirates Of The Caribbean and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory star Johnny Depp has decided to go back in time to the show which launched his career - 21 Jump Street.

I hear he has plans to turn the eighties cop show, in which he played rookie Thomas Hanson, into a movie.

Johnny is concerned that, at 42, he may be a tad old to take on the lead role, but insists he is still "very up for directing duties".

"After all, it's a show that's very close to my heart."
