Julia Roberts plans to hook up with her Ocean's Twelve co-star Brad Pitt in a role that was originally down for his ex, Jennifer Aniston.

I can reveal that Julia, last heard on screen in animated comedy The Ant Bully, has agreed to take on a dramatic role for Brad's Plan B production company.

She is keeping tight-lipped about the part but told my mole that after doing serious theatre for the first time on Broadway this year, she is now ready to tackle more exhausting movie roles.

The really good news is that she has not ruled out a third stint with her most famous leading man, Richard Gere.

She said: "He will always have a place in my heart."
