Keira KnightleyKeira KnightleyLast year Helen Mirren rocked the Golden Globes.

But will Keira Knightley get the chance to follow in her footsteps?

The Blighty star is up for a best actress nomination at the upcoming 65th Globes ceremony, but recent rumblings mean Keira may have to hang up her gown this year.

Why?

The very thing causing our shapely brows to crinkle in worry is that reports say actors will be boycotting the awards this year, which are due to be held this Sunday 13th January.

Apparently it'll be as a show of support for the striking writers, the actors union said on Friday.

The president of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Alan Rosenberg, said in a statement:

George ClooneyGeorge Clooney"After considerable outreach to Golden Globe actor nominees and their representatives over the past several weeks, there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA (Writers' Guild Association) picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters."

This means stars like Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks and George Clooney, may not attend.

Many Hollywood screenwriters have been striking since early November.

The WGA has said: "As previously announced, the Writers Guild will be picketing the Golden Globe Awards."

The Press Association says American TV channel, NBC, still plans to air the ceremony.

Oh well, George, you're welcome to come and watch re-runs of last year with us if you're free...
