The Oscar-winning star is a singleton once again after splitting from hubby Kenny Chesney, after just five months of marriage.

Renee's publicist, Nanci Ryder, said the marriage was being "annulled" but gave no further details.

However, Kenny's publicist, Holly Gleason, said the couple's decision to split had been "mutual".

And according to court papers, Renee listed "fraud" as the reason behind the break-up.

The pair wed in a beach ceremony in the Virgin Islands on 9 May, following a whirlwind romance.

But speculation that their marriage was in trouble had been growing in recent weeks.

Friends told the press that Kenny was "very controlling", and it had caused rows between the couple.

"Renee's not a washing-up, cooking and kitchen kind of girl but Kenny seems to want that," a source told the Daily Mirror.

Further rumours spread after the pair began spending less and less time together.

However, Renee denied the allegations when she showed up to the premiere of Cinderella Man in London last week - on her own.

"I'm happily married," she said. "I don't talk about it because I like to keep my precious things precious."
