A split from Denise Richards and now a trip to rehab.
It's been a bad year for Richie Sambora.
The Bon Jovi guitarist has just been admitted to an LA clinic to be treated for an undisclosed condition.
Friends of the rocker told People Magazine that rehab is the result of Richie suffering a "terrible year".
His divorce from Heather Locklear was recently finalised, just after his relationship with her best friend Denise Richards fizzled out.
Added to that, his father died of lung cancer in April.
"I think this was a culmination of all these things and finally he realised he needed to take care of himself," a mate told People.
"He'd put off everything for so long taking care of everyone else it was just time to stop and deal with his issues."
Bon Jovi are due to tour in the summer, but it's not known if Richie will be well enough to join them.
