Sex And The City The SATC ladiesCosmos at the ready, girls.

You're not gonna believe this.

For the much-anticipated premiere of Sex And The City, Manhattan's four leading ladies are heading to...

The great Blighty city that is London.

Yup, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and the film's stylist Patricia Field will be landing on our doorstep for the world movie premiere of Sex And The City: The Movie next month (12th May to be precise).

Frankly, we couldn't be more thrilled at the announcement - and are in fact at this very moment scouring the town for some Jimmy Choos to wear for the big night.

But the news has gone down less well with peeps on the other side of the pond.

SATC is, after all, a native New York tale.

"If you had to bet where Sex And The City: The Movie would premiere, you'd probably put money on New York, right?" leading fashion and showbusiness commentator Elizabeth Snead told the Daily Telegraph.

"I mean, that's the city that never sleeps, where the HBO series was set and shot, where New York Observer columnist Candace Bushnell wrote those spicy single-life columns that the series was based on. And hey, the whole premise of the TV series was about falling in love with the Big Apple, not with a man.

"London? Not exactly the sexiest city in the world, if you ask me."

Jealous much, lady?

Tracy Lorie, vice-president of communications at New Line (the peeps organising the SATC premiere) has defended the decision, saying: "We have day and date releases internationally so we simply cannot do all the premieres at the same time. It is impossible to be everywhere at once so we had to make some choices.

"London is just the first premiere, not a world premiere. But New York is the big one."

Umm... SATC is coming to London first and that's that.
