Patsy Palmer from EastEndersIt was the biggest night on the soap calendar, but who got lucky at the British Soap Awards?

Well, Hollyoaks' Emma Rigby and the cast of EastEnders definitely scored big.

And, of course, Sky Showbiz was there to bring you all the glitz, glamour and gossip.

Soap's finest turned out in droves to strut their best on the purple rug and they didn't disappoint.

Emmerdale Star Roxanne Pallett had a bit of a frock faux pas, which saw her dress strap snapping on the rug, but after a helping hand from an eager fan she was soon swanning down the carpet in style.

Hollyoaks star Roxanne McKee dazzled in a frock by Jenny Packer and also walked away with the sexiest female gong for the second year in a row.

Corrie star Rob James Collier (who plays Liam Connor) also took home the sexiest male gong for the second time.

The cast of EastEnders must have been celebrating till dawn after the soap won the prestigious best soap award.

Best Exit - Gemma Bissix, Clare Cunningham in Hollyoaks  

Special Achievement Award - Tim Fee, line producer on Emmerdale

Spectacular Scene of the Year - Car off cliff in Hollyoaks

Best Single Episode - Daniel's death in Emmerdale

Lifetime Achievement Award - Liz Dawn from Coronation Street

Best Actor - Chris Fountain, Justin Burton in Hollyoaks
