Triple Mobo winner JameliaTriple Mobo winner JameliaSinger Jamelia lived up to her Superstar status after taking three Mobos to be crowned queen of this year's awards.       

She scooped best single for Thank You and best video for See It In A Boy's Eyes. She also shared best UK act with Dizzee Rascal.

It caps a great week for the 23-year-old Brummie who was also unveiled as the new face - or rather legs - of lingerie firm Pretty Polly, taking over from Rachel Stevens.       

The only other Brit to win a major award, however, was Jamie Cullum, who was named best jazz act. Seventeen-year-old Joss Stone, nominated for UK act of the year and best album, left empty-handed.       

US star Kanye West also won three awards, taking home best hip hop act, best producer and best album for College Dropout.        

Jamaican dance hall star Sean Paul won best reggae act and Usher was named best R&B act.            

Jamelia's treble win caps an amazing comeback year for the singer, who burst on to the music scene five years ago, landing her first Mobo.            

But she became pregnant with daughter Teja, now three, and put her career on hold to become a full-time mother until September last year when she stormed into the charts again with Superstar.            

Around 30 supporters of Vybz Kartel and Elephant Man barracked guests as they arrived at London's Royal Albert Hall, in support of the two acts who were axed from the event after refusing to apologise about their homophobic lyrics.
