Acid-tongued presenter Anne Robinson has been accused of going over the top on her TV show The Weakest Link - after suggesting a contestant stole from the elderly.
The Queen of Mean asked nursing home manager Heather Primett if she routinely nicked pensions, money and jewellery from the people she cared for.
Anne Robinson also criticised Mrs Primett's 'skunk' hairstyle, and asked if her 'hatchet' face frightened the people she worked for.
Mrs Primett, who works for Erith Care Homes, near Bexleyheath, Kent, replied 'no' to all Anne's questions.
She lost in the final round.
Now the National Care Homes Association has demanded that both Anne and the BBC apologise for the diatribe.
Chief executive Sheila Scott said: "We are absolutely furious. It is total, utter ignorance on Ms Robinson's part."
Anne, a former journalist and Watchdog presenter, who has forged a career out of her waspish manner, asked:: "Do you steal their pensions when they are not looking?"
Referring to a watch and wedding ring that Mrs Primett was wearing, Anne continued: "Is that your own jewellery or have you got that from the old people?"
Liverpool-born Anne later asked: "Do you alter their wills and get their money?"
Looking offended, Mrs Primett replied: "We don't do things like that, it is illegal."
Anne sparked controversy earlier this month when she asked a Liverpudlian teacher whether she taught her pupils to steal, resulting in a dressing down from councillors in her home city.
