Blue's Lee Ryan has released his first solo single, while Modfather Paul Weller is back with another new cut.
Sky News Active's Elizabeth Scott checks out what singles are hitting the shops this week...
LEE RYAN
Army Of Lovers
Blue have barely said their goodbyes and Lee is already releasing his first solo single.
It's good news for fans of the chart-topping boyband as Army Of Lovers sounds very much like a Blue offering.
This soppy love ballad proves that the bad boy of the band is a strong enough vocalist to go it alone, but in the video he is looking rather lost without the others.
When he was with his band they shifted 8m albums worldwide.
I doubt Lee will be able to come close to that, but it will be interesting to see where his debut charts, and how his self-titled album sells when it comes out on 1 August.
PAUL WELLER
From The Floorboards Up
The legendary, massively influential Paul Weller returns with a new single.
From The Floorboards Up sees the former Jam frontman get down to some gritty rock n roll, after his more subdued album of cover versions, Studio 150, was released earlier this year.
It is full of attitude and has a stomping guitar riff that's bound to get the dance floor moving. The lyrics are a bit repetitive, but Weller gets away with it because of the song's energy.
From The Floorboards Up is a great taster of what is to come in his forthcoming album As Is Now - out in November.
STEPHEN FRETWELL
Emily
Northern lad Stephen Fretwell could be the next Damian Rice. The 23-year-old singer/songwriter is clearly talented and his debut album Magpie has got critics very excited.
This is his second single and it looks set to propel the Scunthorpe-born crooner into the limelight.
It's a stirring acoustic song about a one-sided love affair. Although a bit depressing, it's a must for those of you into touching guitar ballads.
Stephen has been pretty busy since Magpie came out at the end of last year; he has toured with Keane and Mercury nominee KT Tunstall as well as performing at the summer festivals, including Glastonbury.
He has also written songs for director Cameron Crowe's new film, so if you're a fan, there is plenty more material in the pipeline.
You can catch Elizabeth every Monday on Sky News Active's showbiz channel.
