Trisha Goddard Trisha Goddard Trisha Goddard has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The TV presenter found out about her condition three weeks ago after going for a routine check-up.

She is now taking several weeks off work to undergo treatment.

Trisha's rep said that doctors operated straight away after a lump was found, removing a tumour immediately for analysis.

Staff at Trisha's Five TV show were informed today that the 50-year-old will be away from work for a further half a month while lymph nodes (bodily filters that collect and destroy bacteria) are removed.

Trisha's husband, Peter Gianfrancesco, said:

"She may possibly need, or choose to have, chemotherapy.

"We are both stressed and exhausted from the stress and worry, but are trying to deal with this one step at a time."

Trisha's business partner, Malcolm Allsop, added: "Trisha does not want to feel like a sick person.

"Indeed, she went straight back to work after the first operation and four days after leaving hospital was at a lunch with Madame Sarkozy and Sarah Brown at Lancaster House.

"She is strong and will come through this as she has with other setbacks in her life."
