You might think that nights in with a tub of Haagen Dazs were reserved for tubby, insecure types like the loveable Bridget Jones.

But Hollywood A-listers can find the dating scene equally tricky - or so Uma Thurman would have us believe.

The 35-year-old beauty opened up her heart to Grazia magazine about the difficulty of finding Mr Right:

"How does anybody do it today? It seems harder and harder to make contact, especially for mature women."

Come on Uma! Surely a 6ft, blonde goddess like you has men falling at your feet?

Apparently not. Since the break-up of her marriage to actor Ethan Hawke in 2003, Uma has struggled to date again.

Uma and Andre Balzas - linkedUma, the face of Louis Vuitton, has been linked to millionaire hotelier Andre Balazs, but she insists the is still "out there and available if anyone's interested."

Maybe it's her approach that's all wrong. In Pulp Fiction, she played a gangster's moll with touching vulnerablity.

But when it comes to men, it seems Ms Thurman is more like the bride, her assassin character in Kill Bill.

"As one who adores the male species, I feel compassionately towards them."
