Who are the lovers?There's nothing wrong with gloating a little.

So when a celebrity vehemently denies something that we've reported, then we're later proved right - yes, we do have a chuckle and pat ourselves on the back.

Way back in March 2005, rumours were doing the rounds that Kristin Davis was dating Steve Martin.

We thought it cute and wished them all the best.

But then in June, the Sex And The City star denied the chat, saying: "I have never in my life been on a date or had a private conversation with Mr Steve Martin.

"People make things up. It's out of control.

"I have met him, I auditioned for his movie about a year and a half-ago, he's a lovely man but I'm not dating him and I have never dated him."

It looks like love (and peeing in the sea) to usSo, we put a sock in it and believed her.

However... we've just stumbled across pictures of the two stars frolicking in the sea in a way that suggests they've had more than a private conversation or two.

Of course, we should give Kristin the benefit of the doubt and conclude that the rumours might have been the catalyst they needed to hook up.

Either way, good on us.
