Of course, Little Britain triumphed at the British Comedy Awards.
But the night belonged to a little-known actress who swiped two awards, leaving Catherine Tate and co, no doubt, a bit "bovvered".
As expected, Matt Lucas and David Walliam's grotesque sketches bagged them some trophies for the mantelpiece.
Little Britain took best comedy show from under the nose of Ricky Gervais' Extras, and the pair also shared the first ever Ronnie Barker writer of the year award.
But the night belonged to one actress - and that wasn't Catherine Tate or Green Wing's Tamsin Grieg as expected.
Ashley Jensen, who plays Ricky Gervais' mate Maggie in Extras, grabbed herself the best actress and best newcomer awards.
Visibly shocked to be up at the podium, Ashley told the press afterwards: "I'm completely blown away by the whole thing. It's a dream.
"I'm happy I won but the prize was getting my job so anything else is a big bonus."
Her name was read out on stage by Samuel L Jackson (who played a cameo in Extras) who pre-empted the announcement by saying: "This is going to make my agent so happy, he's just signed her."
So expect her to book a ticket to LA any day now...
There were more surprises when The Thick Of It took best new comedy ahead of Extras.
Talking backstage, writer and producer Armando Iannucci said: "I wasn't expecting this. I thought Extras would win. I was completely stunned. I deliberately didn't prepare a speech.
"I saw Ricky sucking a cigar, getting ready to go on stage. I'm sure he's big enough to deal with the bitter blow."
But our award for the night went to Kath and Kim.
The pair, who missed out on the best international comedy show award, arrived in a pair of hilarious frocks.
