The speculation went on for ages, but we were still shocked to hear that Billie Piper will be leaving Doctor Who.
So who's going to take her place in the Tardis as David Tennant's assistant in the next series?
It's thought that BBC bosses have already chosen the Doctor's new sidekick, but they're not saying who it is.
But the rumblings are that a former Crossroads actress could be the girl in the frame: Freema Agyeman, 26.
An insider told The Sun: "Freema is a fantastic actress... and she is more than capable of stepping into Billie's shoes to play the Doctor's new cohort.
"Don't forget, no one knew Billie could act before we gave her the job and she's proved to be a sensation."
However, other names are still being touted, included ex-EastEnder Michelle Ryan.
Could Freema really be clocking up her time travel miles?
Well, if we had our own Tardis, we could obviously tell you, but we haven't. So you'll have to wait and see.
