We were looking forward to seeing Pink playing Janis Joplin on film...
But it seems the Stupid Girls singer has now been replaced in the biopic, Gospel According To Janis.
Zooey Deschanel is now set to play the iconic music legend of the Woodstock era.
It's reported that Pink pulled out of the role because of a schedule clash.
The film's producer, Peter Newman, said: "It has been a struggle to find an actress who could sing or a singer who could act... Zooey is the first we found who excels at both."
You may recognise Zooey from films like Elf, Almost Famous and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy...
While she's not that well-known a name now, she does have bona fide showbiz background.
Her dad, Caleb, was nominated for an Oscar as director of cinematography for The Passion Of The Christ and her mother, Mary Jo, starred in David Lynch's Twin Peaks.
She also achieved great critical acclaim for her role in David Gordon Green's All The Real Girls in 2003.
Zooey is something of a singer too and she's working with a vocal coach to nail Joplin's gritty voice for the new movie, as she'll be doing all the songs herself.
Gospel According To Janis is scheduled for release in 2008.
