Alexandra Burke's mum Melissa Bell is eager to clear her name.
She says she's not a con and she has the documents to prove it.
Yesterday we brought you the news that Mel was being investigated for benefit fraud by Islington Council.
A paper suggested the mum of four was doubling-up on her income, and Mel herself confirmed the investigation.
Melissa, whose a diabetes sufferer and requires a liver transplant, receives £17,344 a year in disability and income support.
In a bid to clear her name, the former Soul II Soul singer has handed over documents to The Sun to show that charities received all the money from the various interviews she gave and the gigs she played.
Mel says she's outraged and upset by the allegations:
"I can't work full time because I'm sick," she said. "I could sit at home and do nothing all day but I have chosen to go out there and make a difference - and this is how I get repaid."
"All the council had to do was call and ask if I was getting paid for the gigs and I would have given them proof to show them I'm not."
