Alex Curran's husband Steven Gerrard has found himself in hot water of late.
The Liverpool captain and English midfielder was facing charges of affray after a pub brawl last December.
However Alex, one of Showbiz's most prominent Wags, can now breathe a big sigh of relief.
Because Steven has been found not guilty of affray.
The footballer was cleared of the charge at Liverpool Crown Court today.
The court earlier heard that 34-year-old
Marcus McGee was punched in the face by the footballer in a brawl at a bar in Southport last year.
Steven admitted hitting McGee in the face, but denied affray, saying he had been acting in self-defence after becoming convinced that McGee was about to assault him.
"I thought he was going to hit me," Alex's husband of two years told the court.
"He was on his way forward to me and his behaviour had changed from when I was having a discussion with him. I didn't know why."
"I am sorry about the whole incident," he added.
Steven was described as "quiet", "humble" and "very private" by character witnesses during the trial.
After the verdict came through he thanked his fans and legal team for their support.
Alex and Steven married in June 2007 at a luxury hotel in Buckinghamshire.
They have two daughters, Lily-Ella and Lexie, together.
