And in the inking department, too.

She told The Sun she got three tattoos in one month - a musical note behind her right ear, the word 'love' on her neck and stars on her right foot - after boss Simon Cowell told her not to get any.

She said: "I'd wanted a tattoo for ages. I plan to get loads more. But they have to be tasteful and out of sight. No tramp stamps.

"I'm a very strong-minded person and I've never allowed anyone to tell me what to do - not even my parents. I moved out of home when I was 16 and I've been paying my own bills ever since.

"Simon is beginning to understand that I'm the sort of girl who will do whatever he tells me not to. I'm a rebel at heart. But I think he quite likes it."

Speaking of all things rebel-like, she also admitted she has a soft spot for "bad boys".

In a separate interview with the Daily Mirror, she said: "I'm not ashamed to say I'm attracted to that type.

"Every girl is, but they are scared to admit it. They're worried about being judged or what their parents might think. Now I'm 21 I just think, 'To hell with it'. It's something about their charm, their swagger. They can win us in an instant, then break our hearts."
