Kevin Federline Britney Spears' ex has us well and truly gobsmacked.

Kevin Federline appears to be test-driving a dramatic new look.

He's seeing in the New Year with some added insulation.

While Britters has toned 'n' shaped up with a vengeance for her pop comeback, her former hubby seems to have gone in the opposite direction.

This latest snap of him in Studio City, Los Angeles (left), suggests that he's decided to relax his attitude towards all things image.

Wearing scruffy oversized shorts and a baggy t-shirt over his sweater, this new model of K-Fed is some way off the self-styled slickster andK-Fed back in the day ladies' man we'd come to see recently (right).

We can't tell whether it's just an overload of baggy layers that's created the impression he's filled out a little...

Or whether Kev has indeed been indulging in one too many mince pies.

It's a bit of a change, but we're not saying we don't like it.

In fact, it's rather nice to see a star lay back, throw vanity to the wind and just enjoy themselves, especially in these tough times of the credit crunch and all that.

But what Brit'll say when she claps eyes on her bedfellow of old is a different matter. Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the Spears' household...
