To relieve herself of thousands of pounds' worth of debt.

The X Factor judge said she owned £150,000 in 1995, and could not afford to pay her rent after her marriage to Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon fell apart.

Revealing all to Piers Morgan in an ITV interview to air this Saturday, Dannii admitted her family were unsure about her decision to go saucy for the Australian edition of the infamous mag.  

"My dad was saying, 'Doing this is forever. You can never, ever change it,'" she recalled.Dannii in 1995

But she continued: "It was actually fun and I did feel liberated. I looked at the pictures and thought, 'I look all right'.

"The magazine was the biggest selling title they had ever had and they had to reprint. My girlfriends went out to buy it and told me I looked beautiful. It then felt like a celebration of me."

However, when it came to the exact sum of money she received for the shoot, Dannii remained tight-lipped.

"I would never disclose how much but it had to be a lot to look at my parents' faces and see the anguish in my dad's eyes," she said.
