It's every celebrity's dream...Billie Piper 03.08.Billie Piper

Two new jobs in as many weeks.

Things just keep getting better for Billie Piper.

She's only just getting used to her new role as a mummy - and following her rather gruelling labour and emergency Caesarean, we think work is probably the last thing on Ms Piper's mind...

But the rumour mill is at work following David Tennant's appearance on BBC Breakfast this morning, when he hinted that Billie could be the next Doctor Who.

When asked if hDavid TennantDavid Tennantis one-time assistant could step into the role, he said:

"Why not? It's one of those parts that any actor could bring something valid to, because it can be anything and it's a sort of blank canvas every time.

"It's not like you're casting Tarzan where you've got to have somebody who looks good in a loin cloth - it can be anything."

OK, OK so he didn't exactly say Billie was a dead cert to be the 11th Doctor, but he didn't dismiss the idea of a girly Who either.

Other favourites to replace David for the next series include Tom Ellis - who has experience of being a medic, having played the memorably naked Dr Oliver Cousins in EastEnders - and David Morrissey who has already filmed his part for this year's Doctor Who Christmas special, intriguingly playing a future incarnation of the Doc.

Ooh, who will it be? We can't wait to find out.

Have a gander at who Sky's TV Guide thinks might make the role.
