Well, at least not in Hollywood.

The turning point came when celebs started going crazy for tiny dogs (think Paris Hilton).

Then they started dressing them in cute coats, taking them out to dinner or to showbiz events and generally treating their mutts like children.

Just like stars who can't be seen without the latest bag or pair of shoes, these canine companions have to be in with the latest fashion too.

So it hardly seems strange that one New York designer has recreated three past Oscar frocks for Chihuahuas.

Barking mad? Definitely.

And yet there is a cute factor.
