The idea made us so excited, our ideal coupling fantasies at last come true.
But could it be we spoke too soon?
It was only confirmed last week that Fearne 'n' Steve were indeed seeing each other - with sources saying it was early days for the presenter duo.
And yet already there's chat that their blossoming relationship has hit the dust.
Why? Well, it seems Steve was spotted getting very friendly with a mystery woman at the V Festival recently - with Fearne nowhere to be seen.
"Steve was the target of all the girls' attention but he could not take his eyes off one sexy Asian-looking girl who was working the moves," a bystander at the Virgin Mobile Louder Lounge told the Metro.
"She was really going for it, staring deeply into his eyes and playing a cat-and-mouse game with him.
"He followed this girl back to a corner, where they were touching each other's faces," the source added.
But straight on the back of this alarming flirt chat comes a snap of Fearne and Steve leaving the Radio 1 studios together (right) - in the wake of the above-mentioned incident.
Granted, they're not looking very happy - but it could just be the unwanted attention of photographers that's got them glum-faced and walking about a mile apart.
Who knows what to think, but here's hoping their courtship is still on track.
