Especially when it comes to Hollywood flavour of the month, Freida Pinto.
The Slumdog Millionaire star is being beset by rumours that she's secretly married.
Come again?
A flurry of unsubstantiated reports have it that the 24-year-old actress married childhood sweetheart Rohan Antao in December 2007, but "just stop calling him" when she made it big on the back of Slumdog's mammoth success.
"They were deeply in love," a friend of Freida's tells The Metro.
"Rohan and Freida had decided to keep their marriage a secret until they felt ready to talk about it openly."
However, Freida's reps have cast doubt on the somewhat random claims.
"We do not want to comment. However if she is married then whoever is claiming it should produce a marriage certificate," a spokesperson for the star said.
