The kooky singer has jaws dropping with her latest snaps for V magazine.

Gracing the front cover of the mag's July beauty issue, Gaga sports an intriguing metallic head creation and... well, not much else.

What we're supposed to take from this unusual style statement is unclear.

Is going naked the new vogue?

Does entry to the chic elite now involve unveiling one's nether regions - with a weird hat to boot?

So many questions, so little sense... and Gaga, for one, is not gonna put us straight.

In the video below you'll see the star justifying the shoot with the simple statement: "V stands for my favourite things. V Magazine and vagina."

She also says she welcomes working with the photographer assigned to her for the shoot because "he likes it when my nipples fall out".

See? Doesn't really clear the mud of confusion.
