41-year-old Gordon found himself fighting to stay alive after plunging from a cliff into icy seas off the coast of Iceland.
Gordon, who was filming for Channel 4 show The F Word when the accident happened, was unable to surface properly from the waves because his heavy boots weighed him down.
"I thought I was a goner," he told The Sun.
"I remember thinking: 'Oh, f***.' My boots and my waterproofs were dragging me down.
"I was panicking and my lungs were filling with water."
Gordan finally managed to get himself to safety after the TV crew, alarmed by the fact that he hadn't surfaced fully from the waves, threw him a rope and towed him in.
He admitted he was "dazed and numb" after the incident, but was most worried about letting his missus Tana know what happened.
"I didn't tell her at first," he said.
"But she knew something was up. She was upset and extremely p***ed off. When I was underwater all I could think of was Tana and my kids."
