It's not the big bad wolf or the bogeyman that made Gwyneth Paltrow afraid.
Rather, she's said it was something else that gave her the Hollywood heebie-jeebies.
What was it?
Well, nattering at the Cannes Film Festival, where her new movie, Two Lovers, is debuting, she said she wasn't sure there'd still be a place for her in Hollywood after she took a break to look after her kids.
When asked if she found it tough to return to it all after having a break, she said: "Yeah, it was in a way.
"I really did not know if there would be a place for me any more, especially if you're a woman and especially if you're not 25.
"Hollywood is pretty cut-throat and everybody's got a short memory and there's always somebody younger or hotter or you know, prettier or whatever.
"And I was very realistic about the fact that there might not be any more room for me.
"I definitely knew that I had lost my place that I had when I left. But I was hopeful that if I wanted to do good work then maybe the right thing would find me because I really felt like I had something to say again."
She also got rather deep, saying: "We all have a lot of layers and there is a lot of life experience that you can draw on.
"And obviously I've had an incredibly blessed life and I'm very lucky but I've also had some difficult things happen and I think that those things make you deeper, they make you more kind of wired up to your emotional life and make it easy to access somebody who on the surface may not look like they're similar to you."
"But actually we're all the same. I believe we're all from one big soul."
Does that mean we're your soul sisters, Gwyn?
