Cos it seems that Hayden Panettiere and Steve Jones might still be hanging out.

The chatterati had it these two unlikely daters had gone their separate ways recently.

Some even claimed that it was just a holiday fling to begin with (remember Hayden and Steve got tongues wagging in Cannes).

We hoped against hope the cynics were wrong... and our faith may been re-paid, since latest snaps of the duo show them to look quite content in each other's company.

The pics in question are a bit too private to be published by us - but rest assured it looks like there is still a bit of chemistry between the pair.

Taken inside a restaurant, they show 19-year-old Hayden cuddling up to Steve, 32, even sitting on his lap to look at the bill at one point.

Hayden and Steve first showcased their romance by frolicking on a yacht at the Cannes film festival in May.

Despite rumours of their frisson fizzling out since then, it's clear that they still have some feelings for one another.

However, Hayden recently brushed off lurve rumours regarding Steve, telling reporters in Hollywood: "He lives in London. I have a lot of good friends. I'm single and mingling right now."

"Just because I'm seen with a guy doesn't necessarily mean I'm dating him," she added.

Is she playing it coy, or are her and Steve genuinely just mates? Time will tell.
