Remember when Heather Locklear was arrested in September?
She was spotted driving erratically in Montecito, California.
At the time, the California Highway Patrol said the actress showed "obvious impairment".
However, alcohol was ruled out.
It has now emerged that Heather, who in July completed a month of treatment for anxiety and depression, has been formally charged with misdemeanour driving under the influence.
Prosecutors in Santa Barbara have cited prescription drugs, but the exact medications and amounts have not been revealed.
Senior deputy district attorney Lee Carter told People: "Lab tests showed she had no alcohol in her system and no illegal narcotics of any kind.
"We believe that the prescriptions she was taking could have impaired her ability to drive a motor vehicle safely.
An arraignment has been scheduled for the 26th January.
At present, Heather's attorney and publicist are declining comment.
