As we all know, there's a recession on and times are a little tough.
Because of this, we are all having to cut back a little and make changes to our lifestyle.
And if you're a lady who likes to have her nails done, Jessica Vartoughian, creator of Jessica Nails, has a step-by-step guide of how to keep your nails beautiful without splashing the cash.
Firstly, she recommends massaging the cuticles with Jessica's Phenomen Oil, a nutrient-rich oil which stimulates circulation and keeps them supple, soft and moisturised.
Next, soak your fingers in a bowl of warm water with a little Jessica Hand and Body Bath wash to cleanse and prepare your nails for filing.
Now it's time to shape your nails with a cardboard-based emery board (not glass or metal) and file in one direction only, until you have a nice ‘squoval’ shape (a cross between a square and an oval).
Then massage a little Nourish Therapeutic Cuticle Formula into the cuticles and use either an orangewood stick tipped with cotton wool, or a cotton bud, to push them back. Wrap the wet corner of a linen towel around your index finger and gently push back any excess cuticle, and, if absolutely necessar
y, use cuticle clippers to remove hang nails.
Use a nail brush, water and soap-free hand wash to remove any excess oil and dry thoroughly. Your nails are now primed and ready for their colour.
Start with a Jessica Prescription basecoat, then add two coats of colour and a coat of Jessica Brilliance top coat, making sure you seal the edges of your nail to protect it. On all applications of the base coat, colour and top coats apply the product behind the free edge, then use long, sweeping strokes over the nail and finish by sweeping the brush across the tip of the free edge to completely seal the nail.
You see, it couldn't be simpler, and all for a fraction of the cost. Carry this out each week, and your nails will be healthy and beautiful.
