Blood, sweat and tears have gone into Beyonce Knowles' latest album.
We have to wonder whether she may be a bit obsessed...
After all, who really needs 70 songs to choose from?
Writing on her website, Beyonce admitted that she had taken nearly a year to record dozens of tracks for the album, in order to reveal "a sound that reveals all of me".
In a profound outpouring, which only leaned slightly towards self-obsession, Bey told her fans:
"I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life.
"I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby.
"It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny’s Child when I was 15 years old.
"I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me."
Zzzzzzzzz.... sorry. Where were we?
Oh yeah, so it's great to see Beyonce dishing so much personal detail on her music.
If slightly surprising, given this is someone who won't even admit whether she's married or not.
