And you have to be one of Gwyneth Paltrow's pals to join.

The actress has set up a book club to get her, and her pals, through these tricky times.

While most girlfriends encourage their pals to party and pash in order to get over a break-up, Gwyn has enlisted Madge to read with her.

"I feel a bit swallowed up in January, the days are short, the sky is so close and grey," the actress writes on her Goop website. "The best way to escape is to curl up by the fire with an amazing transportive novel."

Gwynnie also believes that by starting a book club she will get more insight into her friends personalities.

"I like knowing the literary preferences of people," she says. "It gives a better insight to their inner life."

Madge is in for a raucous January.
