Well, a TV return might help to take the sting off.

Since Jamie Mitchell, his character in EastEnders, was killed off six years ago, Jack's been a bit quiet on the showbiz front.

But now he's split from Kym after five and a half years of marriage, things look set to change.

The Sunday Mirror report that Jack met with producers of The Bill recently, with a view to perking up his fledging TV career.

He's apparently been offered a regular slot on the ITV drama, in the role of a character called Duane Howe.

An insider told the newspaper:

"Jack has been through the mill with the end of his marriage.

"This is an opportunity and he's keen to get his teeth stuck into a big project to take the focus off his personal life."

If this move does actually materialise, we can't wait to see it.
