It's a label that's dogged Jennifer Aniston for years.

But while we thought it was all hype, Jen herself has hinted there may be an inkling of truth to the notion.

Speaking to Extra, the 39-year-old star admitted:

"I think it's just hard to date.

"It's not like we're kids," she continued. "We're not 'dating'. We all have these ideas and these pictures of what love's supposed to look like."

In a separate interview with MTV News, she echoed the sentiment, suggesting that the level of scrutiny over her love life may be responsible for her dating difficulties.

"It (dating) is not fun," she said.

"You could end the date and shake hands with them and realise it doesn't work, and all of a sudden you're a new couple."

The comments come on the back of unsubstantiated reports that Jen has split from her boyfriend John Mayer, due to lack of communication between the two.

However, there's been no official confirmation on this yet, so it could just be yet more speculation.

One thing's for sure; post her split from Brad Pitt, Jen's relationships will always be a hot showbiz topic.

We just hope she finds the one, if that's what she's after.
