Yep, on her and John Mayer's official public outing together - at LA steakhouse STK for a humanitarian event - it wasn't just the two of them.

A witness told Us mag that Jen and John "had their arms around each other".

They went on: "She was rubbing his back and whispering into his ear. They were touching each other non-stop all night."

And this ain't the first time we've known of the two sets of couples hanging out - John popped over with Jen to one of Courteney's weekly BBQs at her Malibu home recently too.

It suggests things are going well for John 'n' Jen - if you can get past the best friend, the rest is easy, right?
