So no surprises his name is being linked to Batman.

But it isn't a saviour Johnny's thinking of playing (that part is, after all, already taken by Christian Bale).

Rather, he's got his eye on a more villainous role - or that's what the latest Hollywood chat would have us believe.

Jonny is apparently being considered to play nasty mastermind The Riddler in the next Batman film.

Yes, we know the current Batman movie has only just been released (with Heath Ledger receiving rave reviews for his stint as the evil Joker), but already directors are looking ahead to the next instalment of the blockbuster hit.

Johnny's no stranger to playing baddies - think Jack Sparrow and Sweeney Todd - so personally, we think he's an excellent choice.

However, nothing's been decided yet.

But with Johnny's name also being bandied about in relation to The Mad Hatter for the upcoming Alice In Wonderland movie, he's defo going to be a busy boy over the next few months.
