He'd originally commissioned the picture, called Beauty, for £300 when he and Kate were still a couple last May.
But it's taken Pete a year to finally go along and pick up the piece - so the artist upped the cost for the long wait and charged him 15 times its original value.
However, the artist obviously caught Pete on a day when he was wearing trews with deep pockets - as he also snapped up a painting of himself with Paul McCartney and one of his new BBF Amy Winehouse.
Now we wonder where all that little lot will hang in Pete's homestead: will it be the downstairs loo or Pete's own boudoir for Kate?
