She's trying to forget her woes in spite of all the gossip mud being slung.

But is there any further news on what the hell has gone on between her and boyf (or is he?) Jamie Hince?

Well it sure is slim pickings.

And the latest natterings surrounding these two are all about a carpet - yes, you heard right.

The word is Kate spent nearly £20,000 on plush new carpets for Jamie.

According to the Daily Mirror, Jamie has very sensitive feet, something that was made worse by the model's rush matting floors.

So Kate replaced it with deep pile carpets to enable Jamie to trot around rash-free.

"Kate spent a small fortune redecorating her bedroom and the en suite," said a source close to the supermodel.

"She replaced the rush matting because it was giving Jamie red and itchy feet.

"Friends were joking that Jamie was allergic to Kate's house which, like the rush matting, wore thin after a while. In the end, Kate offered to get new, bright white carpets fitted to help make him feel more at home.

"Jamie loved the new look and was really touched by her efforts. But, sadly, that didn't stop him from packing his bags and leaving a few weeks later.

"Let's just say that after spending all the money, Kate wasn't thrilled by the sudden turn of events.

"Both of them are hoping for a reconciliation, though, and Kate is obviously keen to get value for money from the new carpets."

Yes, let's hope the rock 'n' roll twosome can sweep all this relationship calamity under the carpet.
