But for Kate Beckinsale, the above was all part and parcel of her American dream.

Kate told the Daily Express that she was "very frightened of LA at first" because of the changes to her body that she envisaged.

She said: "I thought the first thing that would happen is they are going to file my teeth down, inflate my bosom and just be mean to me - and that's sort of what has happened."

So does this mean Kate's now just another perfection-craving Hollywood skinny Minnie?
