Certain media outlets have been banging on about how dreadful Katie Holmes looks in this snap (left).

Honestly, you'd think that Katie, who turned 30 last week, has a big green boil growing out of her nose the way these people have been going on.

So we're here to say things aren't THAT bad.

Sure this pic isn't Katie's finest hour, but we all have dodgy pics lying around the house (or carefully discarded in the bin).

Not to mention the fact the snap has been taken in poor lighting, with an unsuspecting Katie not ready for her close-up.

Besides all of that, Katie should be cut some slack as she's got a bubbly toddler to keep an eye on, not to mention a starring role on Broadway, keeping her busy in the run-up to Christmas.

What with this being the season of goodwill, we recks peeps should hush up and give Lady Holmes a break.
