Then Lily had a pop back at Katy Perry.
And now the American starlet has responded.
Well, what did you expect?
But it may come as a surprise to some to find out that on the back of Lily calling her lyrics "crass", Katy doesn't have her verbal guns blazing.
Instead, she's decided to explain her way out of the weight comment which prompted Lily's tongue lashing in the first place.
Owning up to the fact that she referred to herself as a "skinnier version" of Lily, Katy told Us magazine:
"Yeah, I made a joke about (that) earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny.
"I didn't mean anything by it," she added.
"Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."
Hmmm. Is this Katy's version of an apology, we wonder? And will Lils take the (not so obvious) olive branch?
After admitting she was "frosty" with Katy last time she met her - because of the jibe, we just can't wait to see what happens next time the two singers cross paths...
