Los Angeles authorities have confirmed they will be reviewing an apparent "brawl" involving Kiefer Sutherland at a Met Ball after-party in New York.
The actor is alleged to have head-butted designer Jack McCollough following a misunderstanding involving Hollywood starlet, Brooke Shields.
An LA city attorney spokesman said their office intended to contact the New York Police Department, in order to determine whether Kiefer had breached the terms of his five-year probation for a previous DUI conviction.
"Our office intends to contact the NYPD and New York prosecutors to review the incident and determine whether Mr. Sutherland violated probation," Frank Mateljan told People.
The 24 star is privy to strict probation terms following his second DUI conviction, which clearly states that he must "obey all laws".
In the incident on Monday night, Kiefer is claimed to have confronted Proenza Schouler designer Jack, and demanded that he apologise to Brooke, after he apparently knocked into her.
Reports suggest that when Jack refused to say so
rry, Kiefer saw red and head-butted him.
Jack's rep has spoken out about the incident, telling People: "Anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would not hurt a fly.
"All we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of the authorities."
Sky Showbiz are currently awaiting comment from Kiefer's rep on the story.
