Leona Lewis' attacker has been charged.
The man, who hit the singer on Wednesday night, has also been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Peter Kowalczyk was charged yesterday by police.
Peter, 29, from South East London, reportedly spent five hours in line at the Waterstone's store in Central London as 24-year-old Leona signed copies of her book, before attacking the singer.
Last night police charged him with assault and he was taken to a psychiatric hospital after being sectioned.
Leona is recovering from the shocking attack at her home in East London.
She posted a message on her website yesterday which says: "Thank you so much for your support it is truly overwhelming.
"Yesterday was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset.
"I’m very sorry to those I wasn’t able to meet at the signing. Thank you again for all of the lovely message.
"Love you all, Leon."
