Leona Lewis has spoken out about her book signing assault.
The 24-year-old X Factor sensation played down the incident, which happened last month, in which a man posing as a fan hit her, after queuing for hours at the London launch of her autobiography, Dreams.
"It could have been worse," Leona told Sky News, in reference to the unprovoked attack.
"I'm still alive, it's just something you have to deal with when you have fame and the positives far outweigh the negatives.
"I don't like to dwell on the negatives, I'm a very positive person," she added.
The singer said she doesn't have any plans to change her security or hire a bodyguard following the assault, but insists that she does have people around her who "looked out" for her well-being.
A 29-year-old man, Peter Kowalczyk, from south east London has since been arrested and charged following the incident.
Mr Kowalczyk has also been sectioned under the Mental Heath Act and is currently being treated in a psychiatric hospital.
Leona posted a message to her fans on her website immediately after the attack, saying it "left me extremely hurt and upset", but added: "the support is truly overwhelming".
