Lily AllenLily Allen and Elton John hosted this year's GQ awards.

But the two didn't exactly hit it off.

In fact, as the night wore on, they came dangerously close to a public fracas.

At one point, Lily, who was drinking wine during the ceremony, said:

"Now we reach a very special point in the evening."

Sir Elton replied sarcastically: "What, you are going to have another drink?"

Not one to take an insult lying down, Lily jumped with both feet into an altercation, saying: "F*** off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me."Elton John

Lily also got a bit carried away as Tony Bennett collected his inspiration award.

Elton introduced the star by saying that at 82 years old, he was "singing better than ever".

Lily added: "I'll still f*** him," before quickly interjecting: "That was bad? I'll stick to the script."
