Lily Allen Lily Allen Lily Allen has reportedly thrown in the towel.

She claims to be waving goodbye to her sensational music career.

And it's all to do with a squabble about illegal file-sharing on the Internet.

The star had previously angered fans by fronting a campaign against music piracy, because she thinks it hampers homegrown talent.

Music folk bombared her It's Not Alright blog with negative comments over her anti-piracy stance, accusing her of only opposing illegal file-sharing because it harms her financially.

Now Lils has hit back in rather dramatic fashion.

Deleting her anti-piracy blog because "the abuse was getting too much", Lils told her virtual audience: "Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record (applause).

"The day of me making money from music has been and gone as far as I'm concerned, so I don't (at this point) stand to profit from legislation.

"When you start in a music career, you need money to establish and promote yourself and pay for your material to be recorded. This money comes from music sales.

"If you can't sell your music you can't go on. It's that simple."

Wow.

Still, we hope for the music industry's sake that we're not about to lose one of Showbiz's kookiest singers.

In direct contrast to Lily's own chat, her rep claims that the 24-year-old won't be quitting.

"Lily is not quitting pop music and is still promoting and touring her current album," her spokesperson told Sky News.

And the mystery continues...
