The Take That star said he had flings with "maybe 10" women over the five-year period he has been with his partner Emma.

The dad-of-two, who married Emma in October last year, confessed everything to his wife yesterday and blamed his actions on a long-running battle with alcohol.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, 38-year-old Mark said: "I have been an idiot, a d***head, a k***head. All of the above and more.

"It's about me, my mistakes. Nobody else is to blame."Mark Owen and Emma Mark Owen and his wife Emma

Amazingly, one of the 38-year-old's affairs lasted almost five years - while others were short-term relationships with Take That fans on tour. He claims he has been faithful since his marriage five months ago.

He admitted: "I don't know how many girls there were in all. Maybe 10.

"I have been living with the guilt. It has always been there - you carry it around with you," the star confessed.

It has also emerged the multi-millionaire posted a series of cheques to Miss Hanley "including £9,000 since he tied the knot with Emma".

Mark said he has stopped drinking and now wants to concentrate on doing the right thing for his wife and children.

In a statement released today he said: "I'm so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends.

"I'd like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time."
