The former Spice Girl told The Sun: "Yes, I'd do Dannii's job. Me and Simon see each other in Los Angeles quite a lot. He's nice - funny, jokey and chatty."

Wow, will flattery get Mel B everywhere?

She added: "I really need to talk to him about it. I've been a presenter on Dancing With The Stars in the US and I loved it, so I'm sure I'd be good on The X Factor."

There's nothing like a public airing of your CV to get someone's attention.
