Michael Jackson Michael Jackson The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has died aged 50.

The singer passed away after suffering a suspected heart attack at his LA home.

He was pronounced dead just before 10.30pm, British time, on Thursday the 25th June, after being taken to hospital in a coma.

His brother Jermaine, told reporters: "My brother, the legendary King of Pop, passed away on Thursday, June 25, at 2.26pm.

"We believe he suffered a cardiac arrest at his home, however the cause of his death is unknown until the results of the autopsy are known.

"His personal physician, who was with him at the time, attempted to resuscitate my brother, as did the paramedics who transported him to the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles. 

"On arrival at 1.14pm a team of doctors including emergency physicians and cardiologists attempted to resuscitate him for one hour but they were unsuccessful."

Jermaine asked the media to respect his family's privacy during this "tough time".

A post-mortem is currently underway.
 
His manager, Frank DiLeo, said to People: "It's a very sad day for all of us. It's such a terrible shame. He was my friend."

Our LA Correspondent, Dionne Clarke, described the scene at UCLA saying at least 400-500 people were gathered, press and fans.

She said: "On the way here at a stop sign there was a woman in her car blaring MJ music and sobbing."

Michael leaves behind three children - Blanket, Paris and Prince Michael.
